WTF HSA?! πβπ¦Ί
As you might know, we've had quite a week with Lucy. After finding a mass on her spleen last week, we spent this past Tuesday getting comprehensive tests to see what we're dealing with. We came to the conclusion that there's more than 1 mass and it's most likely a cancer called hemangiosarcoma (also known as HSA). Surgery isn't an option. Instead we're going to focus on keeping Lucy the happy girl that she already is for as long as we can. And [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE], I have to say the outpouring of support from the Wear Wag Repeat community has been incredible. Through friends like Hannah (a pet nutritionist), Haley (who's been through this with her dog), my new friend Dr. Robin Moore (who talked to me on the phone Saturday night), and of course, Dr. Chisnell (who worked with us all day Tuesday)... I realize just how valuable it is to have access to experts who truly care. This experience has reminded me why I love what I do β connecting people with the knowledge and support they need. I'm so inspired by the outpouring of support that I've received in the last week, that I would love to offer my support to you if you can use it π
And if you're a pet parent who's been dreaming of turning your passion into a business or side-gig, book a strategy session and we'll map out your plan!β We're in this together, [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE] Thank you for being a part of our journey. β P.S. To all the pet sitters, dog walkers, veterinarians and others working through the holidays - thank you for making the season special for so many pets and their people! π You're making a huge impact, thank you. P.P.S. Fun fact... both my family AND my boyfriend's family celebrate the Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes for Christmas. So that means I have TWO nights of seafood feasts coming up! I include Burt and Lucy by adding canned sardines to their food and giving them a cod skin chew (it's basically baccala!) π β β β
