what did you expect, lady?
β Unsurprisingly, people tell me a lot of things about their dogs. Most of the time I am so here for it, [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE]! But over the last week, people have been telling me off-the-wall things that have me thinking, "What did you expect, lady?" One lady told me about her dog's violent diarrhea that required an emergency vet visit. She added that her dog had been raw-fed their whole life then one day she suddenly switched to kibble because they were going on a road trip. Well, yeah. π What did you expect when suddenly switching food like that? Another lady was at the park and let her 8-month-old puppy run free. All the dogs flocked to him and Burt especially was sizing him up. She was clearly nervous and didn't like what was going on. Then she mentioned her dog isn't neutered and it was only his second time playing with other dogs. Well, yeah. π What did you expect when you let your intact dog charge into a brand new group? I'm not mentioning these stories to make anyone feel bad or to rant. I'm sharing these to remind you that things go a lot smoother when you set your dog up for success. With the holiday season coming up, how can you set your dog up for success? Their schedule will likely be disrupted. Bad weather days might limit your walks. There will be more stressors such as decorations, visiting friends and the doorbell ringing. OH MY! π¦ ππ½ But I got you covered! I created a free guide to holiday enrichment to help your dog do their best over the next few months. β Grab the doc to discover ideas for active games, food-based activities, and passive enrichment (don't overlook that one!). When people tell me head-scratching things about their dogs I usually just nod and look for an exit! I try not to make the face I'm making above! π β |
